Vintage gray 1940's Penny's Marathon fedora. I got this one pretty cheap but the only is the fact that it has plenty of moth holes, but I still couldn't resist, lol. The wool overcoat is a vintage 1940's Botany 500.

My bluegrass green vintage 1940's Royal Stetson. This Stetson is very unique in terms of the color and the overall appearance. It is by far one of the best Stetson's I own. I own 5 Stetsons, 2 are modern and 3 are vintage. It would be foolish to compare the modern Stetsons with the vintage ones because, like many other vintage hats, they are better made not to mention the fact that they have taller crowns which make them more sophisticated looking. It has a welted edge and it has the original liner along with the sweatband. Very sharp and gorgeous hat from a bygone era.

Brown Vintage Knox Superfine from the 1940's. I must say this one is probably my favorite. It has a beautiful bound edge and I really love the shape of the crown and brim. Like some of my other vintage hats it doesn't have the original sweatband but it has a new sweatband that is roan leather. The fur felt is excellent quality. Of all the bound edge hats I own this one takes the prize. Knox, Mallory, and Stetson were some of the most popular brands back in the day. Stetson is one of the three brands I mentioned that is still around and they still produce fine hats. I also own two other Knox hats. They are fine hats but they can't be compared to this exquisite gem.

 I recently purchased three of these Dobbs Rosebud Milan Straw Fedoras. One in Cognac for my dad (that's him in the picture below), and two in the Grey (which is much lighter than in the picture and resembles more a putty color. Really nice!) one for my brother and, of course, one for myself! This a very versatile, comfortable, stylish, and affordable straw fedora that is sure to compliment any summer outfit and draw lots of attention.

You might also consider the The Stetson Tehachapi Loop straw Milan in Navy...if you can find one! I was lucky to find one this past winter at Sid's Clothing and Hats at http://sids-clothing.com/

but I don't think they are carrying them anymore. Best bet would be to contact Stetson directly. 

Spring and Summer is Straw Fedora Season

 Straw fedora season will soon be upon us. I've added a few new straws to my collection this season. This is the Stetson "Pasadena" in Black from their Milan Straw Collection. For my money, it's an excellent addition to your straw collection. Or if you are looking to purchase your first straw fedora, this is an outstanding choice; Sharp, a 2 1/8 inch brim, comfortable, and affordable!
